The Elders Christmas Party ........................................

After spending more and more time with "Auntie Amy" and the rest of the Yellowbird Group, it soon became apparent that the older generation are "the forgotten generation" and this did not sit well with The Bugle Group.  The main objective of The Bugle Group is to make a difference and we decided that we were going to host an all expenses paid Christmas Party for our wonderful Elders of the Yellowbird Support Group.

So in true Bugle style we arranged a Christmas Party with a Bugle twist.  We wanted to make the occasion as special as we could and a day to remember for our Elders, and we did just that.  We held the event at the Church of God of Prophecy Christian Centre, which is where The Yellowbird Group regularly met so it was an ideal venue and familiar to our guests.  However, the centre does look a little tired so we dressed the room and transformed it completely.

We then arranged a host to welcome our guests and escort them to their tables, where we had a magician on hand to entertain our guests whilst awaiting others to arrive.  We arranged a host to take us through the day, live music, including singers, saxophonists, steel pans, a guest DJ and even Santa who was accompanied by one of his elves.  In addition to enjoying the entertainment, our guests were able to feast on a 3 course meal, with 5 different menu options.

The day could not have gone any better, as you can see from the photographs in the gallery  What started as a small Christmas Party for a group of 30-40 Elders turned into a huge party for more than 80 guests.  Reflecting on the day, everyone was happy and smiling and singing and dancing.  We knew it was a huge success when one of the ladies took me by the hand and said "If I never attend another Christmas party I will remember this one - thankyou."  So with tears in my eyes and warmth in my heart our job was done.
